PRAISE
CALL TO WORSHIP………………………………………………………………….Burt Prange
We gather together to worship our loving, nurturing God,
who, like a mother, knows us intimately, loves us unconditionally
Praise God, the Source and Sustainer of life,
who like a Mother teaches us the way we should go, and comforts us in times of need.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND PARDON
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the women who raised us, who were our mothers in childhood. Whether birth mom, adopted mom, older sister, aunt, grandmother, stepmother or someone else, we thank you for those women who held us and fed us, who cared for us and showed us your love. We pray that our lives may reflect the love they showed us, and that they would be pleased to be called our moms.

SILENT PRAYERS WORDS OF ASSURANCE
Jesus, who showed great concern and love for his own Mother, offers us hope, comfort, and salvation.  On this Mother’s Day Sunday, know that God’s sustaining love and forgiveness is available to all people. Amen.
